Firmware systems BT-BTA have been designed to produce keyways and large inside/outside figures on CNC machines.
This means that in this context the firmware executed after a series other operations on the same machine: after turning, drilling, milling, etc., without removing the workpiece from the machine, you can switch to keyway piercing with obvious advantages both in terms of machining accuracy and economy.
For this type of processing, BM offers two solutions:
The first solution is the device WT, consisting of holders and nozzles. This tool especially suitable for CNC machines (turning, milling, machining center) with “y” axis and CNC machines designed specifically for broaching (grooving). The exact position of the tool in relation to the internal broaching hole achieved using all the operating functions of the CNC.
The tool is available in two gripping diameters:
Ø 25 and Ø 32. Useful piercing depth varies from a minimum of 30 mm to a maximum of 200 mm.
Second decision is a system VTA, consisting of a BT device (holder + nozzle) and an eccentric adjusting sleeve. This system from three components very suitable for CNC machines that do not have a “y” axis. Indeed, in cases where the lathe does not have a “y” axis, the concentricity of the tool BTA in relation to the inner hole, for firmware, is provided by moving the eccentric sleeve in one or the other direction. By means of the sleeve measuring scale it is possible to eliminate symmetry errors which are often encountered in this type of machining. The eccentric bushing is available in three sizes with outer diameters: 32–40–50, the axis of the inner hole is shifted by 0.5 mm in relation to the bushing axis.
The solution found in the design of the BTA system has been patented as it is truly innovative in the field of keyhole piercing.
At the moment, the market is mainly represented by a stationary tool, that is, unregulated, therefore, the angular alignment of the tool occurs after a number of attempts, and in any case without a measuring scale, which simplifies and speeds up the process itself.
CAM BUSHING (B)
It is the basis of the BTA system for keyway piercing on all CNC lathes that do not have a Y axis. With the help of a calibrated scale, on the shoulder of the sleeve, you can correct all the symmetry errors that occur at the beginning of work when flashing. When moving the inner hole in relation to the central axis of the sleeve (0.5 mm), toolholder correction area varies from +0.5mm to -0.5mm.
A movement of just one notch on a calibrated scale results in a nozzle movement of 0.03 mm. The sleeve is made from tool steel, then hardened and ground. It is manufactured with an outer diameter in mm. B-32 / B-40 / B-50 (with H7 tolerance). Upon request, we can produce the same type of sleeve with a VDI shank.
The mechanism for adjusting the concentricity of the eccentric bushing has been patented.
To make it easier to determine the BT/BTA system required, for example, to make a 4 mm key with H7 tolerance, you need to do the following:
> Nozzle type L1=4 code IN-4H7
> Holder type: code UT-4-32
while for BTA system:
> Sleeve type: code B-40
